Thoughts On Klay Thompson Going To Mavs

As a longtime fan of the Golden State Warriors, it is tough to see Klay Thompson officially leave for the Dallas Mavericks. Klay has been a huge part of the Warriors’ success over the past decade, helping bring four championships to the Bay Area and creating countless unforgettable playoff moments.

At the same time, his move to Dallas makes a lot of sense from a basketball perspective. Playing alongside Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving gives the Mavericks another elite scorer who can stretch the floor and create more space for their offense. Thompson’s perimeter shooting, playoff experience, and defensive versatility should strengthen a team that just made the Finals and is aiming to take the next step. While it will feel strange seeing him in a different jersey, I will always appreciate what he did for the Warriors and wish him success, even if part of me still wishes he was finishing his career in Golden State.
